Akbank LAB, Akbank's innovation center, brought together financial technology, startups, and technology companies at the PoChallenge Demo Day event.
According to the statement made by the bank, leading participants of the innovation ecosystem had the opportunity to come together at the Akbank PoChallenge Demo Day event.
While 65 companies from around the world applied to the program, 6 of the 12 finalists presented their projects at Akbank LAB.
At the event, Akbank LAB's 'Artificial Intelligence for Good' projects, developed in collaboration with the ReFi Türkiye initiative and Microsoft AI for Good Lab, were also shared with attendees.
Akbank Retail Banking and Digital Solutions Executive Vice President Burcu Civelek Yüce, who delivered her speech at the event, stated that being the bank of the future requires re-imagining as a financial institution.
Yüce stated that the secret to being an institution that adapts to transformation lies in using the transformative technologies of the age to create meaningful partnerships that extend beyond traditional banking. Futurist Brett King also emphasized that artificial intelligence-based systems and smart contracts will reshape the banking ecosystem in the future.
Burcu Küçükünal, Akbank Digital Design and Innovation Senior Vice President, highlighted the importance of open innovation by describing the projects they implemented with Strands, a collaboration within the scope of the PoChallenge program.
