Making a statement on the subject, Akbank Direct Banking Executive Vice President Tolga Ulutaş underlined their satisfaction with being the first bank to initiate international money transfers with blockchain technology and said, “We started to plant the first seeds of this industry-leading practice last year. Now, we have started the transfer of GBP to Santander UK with blockchain infrastructure via Ripple. With this important technology, our customers will now be able to benefit from the opportunity to transfer money at a much lower cost and faster in international money transfers.
